Two Worlds on One Amulet
Each side of the medallion tells a different part of an epic story of conquest, treasure, and the quest for freedom. The design is meticulously crafted to make every detail stand out.
- Obverse (Aztec Calendar): The front side is a faithful miniature reproduction of the monumental Sun Stone, often mistakenly called the Aztec Calendar. Its complex design, full of symbols, represents the Aztec vision of the cosmos. To give you an idea, the original housed in Mexico City is 3.6 metres (11.8 ft) in diameter and weighs an incredible 24 metric tons! To wear its symbol is to wear a piece of history.
- Reverse (Pirate Galleon): The back side transports you to the deck of a ship cruising the Caribbean. The intricately depicted pirate sailing ship, flying the skull and crossbones flag, symbolizes freedom, courage, and the hunt for the very treasures the Aztec Empire left behind.

The medallion is crafted from a solid piece of brass with a hand-applied patina that gives it an ancient and authentic look. The Sun Stone and the Gold Rush
The Aztec Sun Stone is not merely a calendar. It is a complex philosophical and religious work depicting the five successive worlds (or "suns") of Aztec mythology. It was the art and the unimaginable golden wealth of the Aztecs that attracted the Spanish conquistadors in the early 16th century. The gold they looted and transported in vast quantities to Europe subsequently became the main prize for pirates and privateers for the next two centuries. This medallion perfectly symbolises this fascinating historical cycle—from ancient mysticism to the golden age of piracy.

How to Care for Your Medallion
The patinated surface is a key feature of the design, so do not scrub or polish the medallion with abrasive materials, as this could remove the patina. Protect it from contact with perfumes, creams, and other chemicals. The leather cord should be protected from prolonged exposure to water. To clean, simply wipe the medallion with a soft, dry cloth.
