A Symbol of the French Crown
This artistic replica is struck using classic technology from hand-engraved dies, faithfully imitating one of the most beautiful European coins of the 15th century. It is made from polished brass, and with a diameter of 31 mm, it feels truly royal in the hand.
- Obverse (Front): Bears the coat of arms of the Kingdom of France – a shield with three fleurs-de-lis, topped by a royal crown. Above the crown is a small sunburst, which gives the coin its name: écu d'or au soleil (gold écu with a sun). The inscription reads: KAROLVS DEI GRA FRANCORVM REX (Charles, by the Grace of God, King of the Franks).

His campaign kicked off the Italian Wars, which lasted for decades and fundamentally shaped the politics and art of the entire European Renaissance.
