Padded Arming Collar, various colours
This collar from Ulfberth is made of three layers of fabric: an outer layer of cotton fabric (canvas), a padding layer of polyester and a cotton lining. The stitching is diamond-shaped, which ensures maximum wearing comfort as the collar remains very flexible. The collar is pulled over the head and fastens at the centre front with a ribbon with net ends. The high collar immensely increases the comfort when wearing armour or chain mail around the neck. A padded collar is almost essential for display and free fighting. In the Middle Ages it was worn under plate and ring armour and increased the comfort of armour.
