BMSB Chain mail coif with triangular mouth guard, ID 8mm, blackened
Made from round unriveted rings. The blackened surface of the rings provides light protection from corrosion (rust). We call this type of chain mail Butted Mild Steel Blackened. The chain mail coif is woven 4 in 1.
This kind of chain mail coif was very popular in the High Middle Ages with e.g. the Normans or crusaders.
We suggest wearing a bonnet underneath the coif.
