How to Install the Latch

Installation is straightforward. First, position the main bar and the keeper (the catch) on your gate and frame, ensuring they align perfectly when closed. Mark the screw holes with a pencil. Drill small pilot holes at the marked locations to prevent the wood from splitting. Finally, fasten both parts securely. Important: Mounting screws are not included. You must select screws of a suitable length and type for the thickness and material of your door or gate.

Proper Care

The latch is made of cast iron with a protective black finish. For routine maintenance, simply wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth. For outdoor use, we recommend inspecting the finish periodically and, if necessary, treating it with a protective wax or metal oil to maintain its appearance and maximize its resistance to rust.

What to Avoid

This latch serves as a mechanical means to secure a gate or door against opening; it is not a high-security lock. Do not use it as the sole security for a main entrance in a high-risk area.
