The History of Knife Carry and the Origin of Tactical Pouches

Historically, knives were primarily carried in rigid leather or wooden sheaths securely suspended from a belt. However, with the massive proliferation of folding pocket knives in the 20th century, the need arose to transport them safely inside luggage, pockets, or modern tactical vests. The concept of the soft zipper pouch was born out of the necessity to protect delicate pivot mechanisms and luxurious handle materials (such as mother-of-pearl, bone, stag horn, or polished steel) from pocket lint, moisture, and scratches caused by keys or coins stored in the same pocket.

Proper Use and Easy Textile Maintenance

The pouch is designed for medium to larger pocket knives whose total closed length does not exceed 13 centimetres (approx. 5.1 inches). You simply place the knife inside and safely secure it with the wrap-around zipper, which allows the pouch to open completely flat. At one end, there is a practical nylon loop through which you can thread a paracord lanyard or a small carabiner to suspend it inside a tactical backpack. The nylon exterior is extremely low-maintenance – if it gets dirty, simply wipe it with a damp cloth and a drop of regular soap. We recommend occasionally blowing out the inner fleece layer with compressed air to remove accumulated dust and textile fibres.

Crucial Safety Warning

Please remember that this soft case is intended exclusively for transporting folding knives in a securely closed position! Under no circumstances should you attempt to store fixed-blade knives or opened folding knives in the pouch. A sharp blade would immediately slice through the lining and outer textile layers, destroy the zipper, and expose you to a high risk of severe cutting injuries when reaching into your luggage.
