Black Paracord Knife Lanyard for Quick Draw and Extended Grip

From Normandy Parachutes to Knifemaking Traditions

The story of parachute cord, known globally today as paracord, began during World War II. American paratroopers quickly discovered that the thin nylon cords from their parachutes were incredibly versatile in the field. However, the tradition of attaching lanyards to knives has much older, maritime roots. Sailors fitted their knives with braided cords so they wouldn't drop them into the sea while working in the rigging, simultaneously passing the long hours on voyages by tying complex knots. Today, this historical element is combined with modern materials, creating the perfect tactical accessory for modern bushcraft and survival.

Practical Knife Attachment and Maintenance Tips

This knife lanyard is designed for lightning-fast installation. You simply thread the thin top loop through the dedicated hole at the end of your knife's handle (the lanyard hole). Then, pass the rest of the lanyard through this loop and pull it tight, creating a secure lark's head knot. The nylon material is extremely resistant to abrasion from pocket clips and edges, and it will not rot. If your lanyard gets dirty from cutting tasks or being out in nature, simply wash it in warm soapy water. We strongly advise unraveling the cord only in genuine crisis situations (gear repair, shelter building), as retying the tight knots back into a neat form requires considerable practice.

Crucial Safety Warning

Although parachute cord has an extremely high tensile strength, always remember that this product and the cords obtained from it are under no circumstances certified climbing equipment! Never use the unraveled cord from the lanyard for belaying persons, rappelling, or suspending heavy loads overhead. It is intended exclusively for tactical emergencies, DIY, and campcraft purposes.
