Versatile Carry Options and Tactical Use

The sword is supplied with a scabbard made of hard, mechanically resistant plastic. A series of holes are strategically placed along the perimeter of the sheath, and the included nylon straps with plastic buckles give you complete freedom in how you wear the weapon. For the drop-leg style (worn on the thigh), you use the top loop for your belt and wrap the bottom strap around your leg. However, you can reconfigure the straps to carry the sword diagonally across your back, which is ideal for the quick over-the-shoulder draw familiar from ninja movies. The handle, formed directly by the full-tang blade, is wrapped with a strong nylon cord that absorbs sweat and prevents the weapon from slipping.

Historical Inspiration in a Modern Guise

While classic European swords had complex crossguards and pommels, this tactical sword draws inspiration from Asian weapons, specifically the straight ninja-to swords, combining them with the modern concept of military machetes (hence the name Commando). Military and special forces often prefer all-black, non-reflective weapons that do not draw attention at night. The functional, straight blade shape with its angled tip is based on the tanto profile, which is extremely effective for thrusting techniques.

Safe Usage Guidelines

From a safety perspective, I must strongly emphasize that this sword features a sharp blade. Under no circumstances is it a weapon intended for historical contact fencing, man-to-man combat training, stage fencing, or sporting events like HEMA or buhurt. Striking another steel weapon would destroy the edge. For safety reasons, treat this product as a decorative and collector's item, or as a light utility tool. Always handle it with the utmost caution and strictly at your own risk.

Care for Stainless Steel and Nylon

The blade is crafted from the popular 420 stainless steel. While it is highly resistant to corrosion, the matte black finish can be scratched by rough handling. After each use (especially in damp conditions), I recommend wiping the blade dry and occasionally treating it with a light film of gun oil. Protect the nylon cord on the handle from contact with harsh chemicals or open flames, as it could melt.

Recommended Accessories

In case you want to re-wrap the handle in the future to adjust its thickness or colour, I highly recommend purchasing a good supply of high-quality paracord (parachute cord). To keep the edge in perfect condition, a pocket diamond or ceramic sharpener will also be an excellent addition to your kit.
