Safety Guidelines and Practical Use
The blade, forged from 440 stainless steel and featuring a protective dark coating, comes razor-sharp from the factory. It opens in the classic two-handed manner using the milled nail nick. For safety reasons, we must strongly emphasise that this is under no circumstances a weapon intended for contact historical fencing, self-defence, or man-to-man combat. It serves exclusively as a highly useful civilian and working tool. When closing the knife, always ensure your fingers are clear of the blade's path before pressing the backlock release.
Caring for the Blade and Handle
The 440 stainless steel resists corrosion excellently, yet you should always wipe the blade completely dry after cutting moist or acidic foods to prevent damage to its surface coating. Under no circumstances should you put the knife in a dishwasher; harsh chemicals and hot water could irreversibly destroy the mechanism and the handle material. To maintain a smooth opening action, we recommend occasionally applying a drop of gun oil to the knife's pivot joint. The handle simply needs to be wiped with a damp cloth and dried.
We highly recommend purchasing a fine pocket whetstone to accompany this knife, ensuring you can easily keep the blade in perfect condition even whilst travelling.
