Caring for Ebony Wood and Stainless Steel

While ebony is a very dense hardwood, it requires minor care, like any natural material, to prevent it from drying out and cracking over time. We recommend occasionally rubbing the handle gently with beeswax or high-quality linseed oil. The 440 stainless steel resists corrosion excellently, yet you should always wipe the blade completely dry after cutting moist or acidic foods. Under no circumstances should you put the knife in a dishwasher; harsh chemicals and hot water would irreversibly destroy the natural wooden scales. To maintain a smooth opening action, we recommend occasionally applying a drop of gun oil to the knife's pivot joint.
