Caring for Stainless Steel and Exotic Wood

African Padauk is a stunning wood with characteristic red hues that naturally darken over time. To prevent the handle scales from cracking and to preserve their beautiful grain, we recommend treating them occasionally with high-quality linseed oil or beeswax. Keep the blade clean, and always wipe it completely dry after cutting acidic foods. We recommend lubricating the ball-bearing pivot with a tiny drop of gun oil about twice a year to maintain the knife's silky-smooth action. Never put the knife in a dishwasher; the combination of hot water and harsh detergents will quickly destroy both the wooden scales and the steel blade.
