Throwing axes have a firm place in the history of warfare – one only needs to remember the feared Frankish axes called the francisca. This model, however, is a highly modern tactical interpretation that is strongly inspired by sci-fi films, video games, and post-apocalyptic survival aesthetics. The weight-reduction cutouts in the blade and the rear spike not only give the weapon a futuristic look but also influence its rotation and aerodynamics in flight. The ring at the end of the handle, inspired by Asian karambit knives, allows for a quick draw and a more secure grip in the palm.

Safety and Proper Throwing Guidelines

The blade is made of 420 stainless steel and the handle material is also 420 stainless steel, forming a single solid piece. Although the axes are primarily designed for throwing, remember that stainless steel can be brittle if it hits extremely hard objects (stone, concrete, steel). The target should always be made of suitable soft wood. For safety reasons, we warn that these weapons are not intended for historical contact fencing, combat training, or man-to-man duelling. The sharp edge and rear spikes can cause very serious injuries. Throw exclusively in a designated area and ensure that no one is in the vicinity of the target.

Maintenance and Care of the Axes

Thanks to the use of stainless steel, caring for the axes is undemanding. After each training session, remove wood debris, dirt, and moisture with a dry cloth. The completely black coating will naturally wear and scratch from impacts against the target or each other, which will give the axes a proper, battle-worn patina. You can occasionally treat the edge with a thin layer of gun oil to prevent surface rust from forming on exposed steel areas. Keep the nylon sheath clean and dry.
