Caring for D2 Tool Steel and Olive Wood

Although the blade is made from excellent D2 tool steel, it is vital to know that this is considered a "semi-stainless" steel. It holds an edge brilliantly but is more susceptible to corrosion than standard stainless steels. After every use, especially if you have been cutting fruit or the knife has been exposed to moisture, carefully clean the blade, wipe it completely dry, and lightly treat it with a drop of gun oil. Keep the natural olive wood scales in perfect condition by occasionally rubbing them with beeswax or linseed oil. Under no circumstances should you wash this knife in a dishwasher!
