Scandinavian Bushcraft Survival Knife with Black Micarta Handle
A Blend of Viking Tradition and Modern Metallurgy
Visually and functionally, this knife draws inspiration from the tools of Nordic peoples, proven over centuries. The so-called Scandinavian grind (Scandi grind) features a single wide bevel without a secondary micro-bevel on the edge. This geometry acts like a wedge, making the knife an unsurpassed tool for heavy-duty cutting and wood processing. Historically, similar knives were indispensable equipment for Vikings and Sami people for tough daily tasks in camp and on hunts.
The blade is made from the popular knife-making steel X50CrMoV15. During manufacturing, the steel is refined through the CRYO-T process, a deep-freeze cryogenic treatment. This process transforms soft retained austenite into hard martensite, giving the steel a much more homogeneous and stable microstructure. The result is higher toughness, better resistance to edge chipping, and overall greater reliability. The knife features a full tang construction, meaning the steel runs at full thickness through the entire length of the handle. The blade is additionally decorated with VIKING and ABORIGEN engravings.
Proper Care Extends Lifespan
Although the product is made from high-quality stainless steel, we recommend that you carefully clean and dry the knife after each use. Before long-term storage, it is advisable to lightly coat the blade with a preserving oil. The micarta handle (a layered composite of canvas and resin) is practically maintenance-free and extremely resistant to moisture, frost, and mechanical damage. The red liner under the scales adds a touch of elegance to the knife. Occasionally treat the supplied leather sheath with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax so that the leather does not dry out and retains its flexibility. Never wash the knife or the sheath in a dishwasher.
Important Safety Warning
For safety reasons, we strongly warn you that this is a very sharp working tool intended exclusively for outdoor activities, bushcraft, and material processing. Under no circumstances is this knife intended for historical contact fencing (HEMA), man-to-man duels, or stage combat. Improper use carries the risk of fatal injury. Always use it with the utmost caution and purely at your own risk.
Recommended Accessories
To maintain a perfect edge, we recommend purchasing a high-quality sharpening stone, and for sheath care, a natural leather grease, which will perfectly complement your outdoor gear.
