Compact American USMC Combat Knife of Carbon Steel

Historical Legacy and Battlefield Deployment

The history of knives with this characteristic appearance dates back to the dark era of WWII. The United States Marine Corps (USMC) urgently needed a universal and absolutely reliable tool that could withstand both ruthless close-quarters combat and daily survival chores in the impenetrable Pacific jungle. The original long versions became an absolute legend and an iconic symbol of the American serviceman. This presented shorter variant offers the exact same reliability and quality of craftsmanship, but at a much lower weight and better packability on the belt. It is the absolutely ideal choice for military reenactment covering WW2, the Vietnam War, and more modern conflicts.

Safety Guidelines and Blade Specifications

The blade, featuring the popular clip-point profile and a blood groove (fuller), is precisely crafted from the renowned 1095 carbon steel, expertly hardened to a hardness of approximately 57 HRC. Thanks to this, the knife holds its edge excellently over a long period. Because this is a fully functional and factory-sharpened knife, we must strongly warn you for safety reasons: this product is by no means intended for historical contact fencing, martial arts training, or any man-to-man combat! Careless handling or attempting to spar with a live blade poses a real danger of severe or even fatal injury. Use the knife exclusively for cutting materials, standard camp chores (bushcraft), and as an aesthetic, authentic accessory for your military uniform. All use is strictly at your own risk.

Proper Care for Carbon Steel and Leather

We must strongly emphasise that the 1095 high-carbon steel used is not stainless. Although the black epoxy coating protects the blade to a large extent, the sharpened edge and unprotected parts will rust quickly if neglected. To ensure the knife serves you flawlessly for many years, it is absolutely essential to carefully clean the blade after every outdoor use, wipe it bone dry, and then treat it with a thin layer of high-quality gun preservation oil. We recommend occasionally treating the handle, which is masterfully constructed from compressed leather rings, as well as the supplied sturdy leather sheath (featuring an embossed USMC emblem), with beeswax or a specialised leather balm. This will prevent the cracking, drying out, and degradation of this beautiful natural material.
