Historical Context and Use of the Slender Blade

The original stiletto was born in Italy during the Late Middle Ages and the Renaissance as a dagger with a very narrow blade, primarily designed to penetrate chainmail or narrow gaps in plate armour. During the 20th century, this iconic slender design became the basis for modern automatic knives, which gained immense popularity all over the world and became a symbol of rebellion and movie gangsters. Today, this model is excellent as an EDC tool for opening letters or parcels, but also serves as an amazingly authentic prop for a retro costume from the middle of the last century.

Mechanism and Proper Handling

Handling this automatic knife is straightforward but requires following the proper procedure:

• Opening the knife is lightning fast and is accompanied by a characteristic click. The blade is released with a single push of the button located on the handle.
• To prevent the knife from opening accidentally in your pocket, the product is equipped with a sliding safety catch just below the trigger button.
• To safely fold the knife, the so-called bolster lock must be disengaged. Simply tilt the bottom part of the guard (bolster) down towards the blade, which unlocks the mechanism, allowing you to smoothly fold the blade back into the handle.

Since the product is equipped with a sharp stainless steel blade, we strongly warn that, for safety reasons, it is not intended for contact fencing, cutting tests, or man-to-man combat. Exercise maximum caution when using it so as not to injure yourself or your surroundings. Avoid prying, throwing, or cutting into excessively hard materials, which could permanently damage the opening mechanism and break the blade itself.

To ensure a long service life, we recommend wiping the blade dry after each use in damp environments. The opening mechanism, spring, and joints should occasionally be lightly lubricated with a drop of high-quality gun oil so they maintain their smooth and swift operation.
