In the Middle Ages, petticoats formed an absolutely fundamental and integral part of clothing. Their main practical purpose was to provide the wearer with warmth, which is why they were happily worn in multiple layers during the colder seasons. Alongside thermal comfort, however, they also served an aesthetic function—they gave volume to the overgarment and shaped the desired fashionable silhouette. Today, this piece is the ideal choice for historical reenactment, period markets, and theatrical performances, where it perfectly fulfills its original purpose and visually widens the hem of the overskirt or dress.
Material, Craftsmanship, and Proper Care
The product is crafted from 100% cotton, which guarantees excellent breathability and a pleasant feel against the skin. The lower section of the skirt features a wide, attached ruffle that is elegantly detailed with pintucks. To ensure the skirt fits you perfectly and comfortably, the waistband is equipped with a wide and flexible elastic band. To enjoy the qualities of this natural material for as long as possible, machine wash the skirt at a maximum of 40 °C (104 °F) and always select the gentle cycle. Under no circumstances is the product suitable for tumble drying; dry it by hanging it up freely.

Size Chart and Dimensions
To choose the correct size, please measure your hip circumference horizontally at the widest point. If your measured value lies exactly between two sizes, we recommend you choose the larger one to guarantee freedom of movement (allowances for comfort are already included in the pattern). The total length of the skirt for the combined size L/XL is approximately 102 cm (40.2 inches).
