Chinese Sword Breaker (88CSB) with Wooden Scabbard
The Scourge of the Battlefield
Ancient **Chinese sword breakers** had a rectangular, sometimes hollow-ground, cross-section and sharp edges. They were ideal for delivering blows with maximum impact. Such a strike could knock an opponent's blade so far away they had no chance to bring it back for defence. In the best-case scenario, however, sword breakers lived up to their name and could break, bend, or render conventional swords and many other weapons useless with a single blow. In either case, the opponent was powerless against the intimidating, merciless point of the sword breaker.
Interestingly, due to its size and weight (almost 1.5 kg / 3.2 lbs!), only fighters of exceptional strength and agility could wield it properly.

1055 Carbon Steel
The carbon content and relatively low proportion of other alloys in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness inherent in most higher-carbon steels. This steel is excellent for blades that need to withstand high impact, which is why it's often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
How to Care for Your Weapon
As the blade is made of 1055 carbon steel, it is prone to rust. It is essential to wipe the blade dry after each use and regularly treat it with a thin layer of conservation oil (for example, Ballistol, SKU 21102).
- Protect the wooden handle and scabbard from extreme humidity or excessive dryness.
- The nickel silver fittings can be polished with a soft cloth and metal polish if needed.
- Do not store the weapon in its scabbard for extended periods. Wood and leather can absorb moisture and cause the blade to rust.
- What to avoid: Do not use the sword breaker for prying, throwing, or chopping against extremely hard objects (stones, concrete, etc.). Although it is designed to "break" blades, be aware that even this weapon can be damaged during metal-on-metal contact.
