History and Symbolism: The Emblem of French Kings
The central element of the shield is a brass appliqué featuring three Fleurs-de-Lis on a textured background. The Fleur-de-Lis is one of the most famous heraldic symbols in history. Originally symbolizing purity and the Virgin Mary, it soon became the exclusive emblem of French kings. The three lilies specifically refer to the Holy Trinity. This motif was proudly worn on shields and banners by knights fighting for the glory of France during the Hundred Years' War.
The shape of the shield is based on the classic heater shield, used since the 13th century. However, the top edge is decoratively shaped into three points, giving the shield a more aggressive and dynamic look, typical of late Gothic stylization.
Installation and Usage
The shield is designed exclusively as a wall decoration. The back is coated with anti-corrosion paint and equipped with a sturdy metal chain. Installation is therefore very easy—simply hang it on a strong hook. Thanks to the high polish of the steel, the shield acts like a mirror in the interior, reflecting light and optically enlarging the space. The border of decorative brass rivets underscores its historical character.

Care Instructions
Maintenance is minimal thanks to the high-quality stainless steel. Regularly dust the shield with a soft duster. To remove smudges and restore the mirror shine, use a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid using steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or harsh chemicals, as these could scratch the smooth surface or tarnish the brass relief.
