Skylon Frontier Carbon Arrow with Natural Feathers – High-Performance All-Rounder
Construction and Field Use
The Skylon Frontier shaft is made from premium black carbon, known for its lightness and mechanical strength. The natural fletching ensures the arrow remains stable even in a crosswind. The arrow comes complete with a 9/32 Combo point weighing 100 grains. Before your first shot, you will need to glue in the included insert – this allows you to customise the arrow's length and balance to your liking. The arrow is fitted with an S-Nock for a secure and consistent fit on the bowstring.

Recommended Bow Draw Weight
To ensure optimal flight, you must choose the correct spine for your bow's power:
- Spine 700–800: Suitable for light bows with 15–25 lbs draw weight.
- Spine 500–600: Ideal for medium-power bows ranging from 30–40 lbs.
- Spine 350–400: Designed for powerful bows with 45–60 lbs draw weight.
Maintenance and Safety Warnings
Carbon is tough but not indestructible. Always perform a flex test before each shooting session: hold the arrow at both ends and bend it slightly. If you hear any cracking sounds, discard the arrow immediately. Keep natural feathers away from excessive moisture; if they get wet, let them air dry naturally. Never shoot at hard objects like stones or unpadded wooden posts, as this can cause structural damage to the carbon near the tip.
Did You Know?
The parabolic fletching shape found on these modern arrows was inspired by the aerodynamics of bird wings. This specific curve reduces air drag and noise while providing just enough surface area to induce the spin necessary for flight stability right out of the bow.
Recommended Accessories
To secure the inserts, I recommend using dedicated insert glue or high-strength hot melt. For feather maintenance, a feather waterproof spray is a great addition to your kit. To make retrieving arrows easier, pick up a rubber arrow puller and a quality quiver to keep your fletching safe from damage during transport.
