The key feature of this knife is its full-tang construction. This means that the steel blade runs in its full width and thickness through the entire handle right to its very end. This design is historically derived from proven hunting and military knives because it provides the tool with incredible structural strength and eliminates the risk of breakage where the blade meets the handle. The 95 mm (3.74 inches) long blade is made of proven 440 stainless steel, which offers a great compromise between long-term edge retention, easy sharpening, and high rust resistance. The beautifully textured handle scales are made of modern Pakkawood, a composite material consisting of layers of natural wood veneer impregnated with resin under high pressure. The result is a material that retains the warm look of wood but is significantly more resistant to moisture and mechanical damage.

Safety Warnings and Practical Use

This tool is supplied from the factory with a very sharp blade, perfectly suited for preparing kindling for a fire, processing food in a camp kitchen, or whittling. The thick steel bolster (guard) between the handle and the blade effectively prevents your hand from slipping onto the edge during heavier work. However, we strongly emphasize that this is a practical working tool. Under no circumstances is it intended for contact fencing, martial arts training (HEMA), or person-to-person duelling. Using the knife for these inappropriate purposes carries the risk of serious or even fatal injury and is strictly at your own risk.

Proper Care for the Knife and Leather Sheath

Even though 440 stainless steel is highly resistant, we recommend washing the knife with clean water and drying it thoroughly after every use in the outdoors (especially after contact with acidic fruit or aggressive plant saps). Occasionally wiping the blade with a thin layer of gun oil or food-safe oil will further extend its lifespan. The package includes a robust belt sheath made of thick cowhide leather, equipped with a snap-fastener retaining strap. We recommend treating the leather at least twice a year with a quality leather conditioner containing beeswax so that it doesn't crack and retains its natural suppleness and water resistance.
