Traditional EDC Folding Pocket Knife with Padauk Wood and Floral Etching
Construction and Noble Materials
At the core of the knife is a practical 70 mm (approx. 2.76 inches) clip-point blade made of proven 440 stainless steel. This material is highly regarded for its excellent corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. The handle is fitted with scales made of African Padauk wood. This luxurious hardwood is characterised by its beautiful reddish-brown colour and outstanding dimensional stability. The steel bolsters at both ends of the handle are artistically decorated with an etching featuring classic acanthus leaf motifs, granting the knife an unmistakable Victorian charm. A discreet lanyard hole is located at the rear of the handle, allowing you to easily attach a leather cord or paracord.
Historical Context and Operation
Pocket knives featuring wooden handles and decorated bolsters were an essential part of a gentleman's attire at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. They were used for minor daily tasks, from clipping cigars to opening letters. This model retains the traditional two-handed opening method via a classic nail nick. A major advantage of this design is the use of the traditional spine lock, commonly known as a backlock. Once the blade is fully deployed, the locking bar securely engages with a notch in the tang, guaranteeing that the knife will not accidentally close during use.

Care for Natural Materials and Safety Guidelines
To ensure the Padauk wood retains its rich colour and does not dry out or crack, we highly recommend occasionally rubbing the scales lightly with linseed oil or beeswax. Under no circumstances should the knife be washed in a dishwasher or left soaking in water. Always wipe the blade with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly after use. Keep the locking mechanism and the blade pivot free of pocket lint, and occasionally lubricate them with a drop of fine machine oil to maintain smooth operation.
Although the knife is equipped with a reliable safety lock, please remember that the factory edge is exceptionally sharp. When closing the knife, always depress the lock bar on the spine of the handle and carefully fold the blade down with your other hand, making absolutely sure your fingers are clear of the blade's path. This knife is designed for standard cutting tasks; never use it for prying, chopping hard materials, or any form of contact combat.
To complement this magnificent piece, we highly recommend purchasing a quality leather belt pouch from our selection, which will protect the knife from being scratched by keys in your pocket and perfectly highlight its traditional aesthetic.
