Classic Folding EDC Pocket Knife with Elegant Olive Wood Handle
The History of Pocket Knives and the Charm of Olive Wood
Folding pocket knives have accompanied humanity since ancient Rome, but their golden age truly began in the 18th and 19th centuries with the rise of industrial steel production. They became an essential piece of everyday gear for every gentleman, farmer, and tradesman. This specific model pays homage to traditional cutlery by utilizing olive wood. The olive tree is iconic to the Mediterranean region, and its wood has been historically prized for its exceptional hardness, durability, and beautiful, striking texture. Thus, this knife is not just a tool, but also a minor work of art referencing centuries-old traditions of working with natural materials.
Construction and Secure Locking Mechanism
The foundation of this knife is a slender yet durable blade measuring 60 mm (approx. 2.36 inches), crafted from proven 440 stainless steel. This steel is highly favored by knifemakers for its excellent corrosion resistance and ability to hold a good edge. Opening the blade is done in the traditional two-handed manner using a nail nick. A major advantage of this model is its spine lock, commonly known as a backlock. Once the blade is fully deployed, the lock clicks audibly into place, firmly securing the edge in the open position. This significantly increases safety during cutting tasks and prevents the knife from accidentally snapping shut on your fingers.

Knife Care and Safe Handling Guidelines
Natural wood requires specific care. To prevent the olive wood scales from drying out or cracking, and to maintain their rich colour, we highly recommend occasionally rubbing them lightly with linseed oil or pure olive oil. Under no circumstances should you put this knife in a dishwasher or leave it soaking in water! Doing so would cause irreversible damage to the wooden handle. After use, simply wipe the blade with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. Keep the pivot joint and the locking mechanism free of debris, and occasionally lubricate them with a drop of fine machine or gun oil to ensure smooth operation.
Even though the knife is equipped with a reliable backlock, please remember that the factory edge is exceptionally sharp. When closing the knife, always depress the lock bar on the spine of the handle and carefully fold the blade down with your other hand, making absolutely sure your fingers are clear of the blade's path. This knife is designed for standard cutting tasks; do not use it for prying, chopping hard materials, or any form of combat or self-defence.
To accompany this elegant knife, we highly recommend purchasing a quality leather belt pouch. This will protect your knife from being scratched by keys in your pocket and will add a perfectly rustic, historical touch to your everyday carry gear.
