Through the lens of real-world history and weaponry, this grand piece closely mirrors a late medieval Type XIIIa or XXa longsword under the Oakeshott typology, primarily due to its significant two-handed grip, long fuller, and tapering blade. However, in the lore of Middle-earth, this is the reformed blade Narsil, originally wielded by King Elendil against the Dark Lord. Reforged by Elven smiths in Rivendell, it was presented to Aragorn, who named it Andúril, the Flame of the West. The beautiful Quenya inscription in the runes of Eregion along the blade reads: "Nányë Andúril i né Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten i máli Mordórëo", which translates to: I am Andúril who was Narsil, the sword of Elendil. Let the thralls of Mordor flee me.
Usage and Crucial Safety Guidelines

The blade is constructed from 420 J2 stainless steel, which is hardened and durable, but it utilises a rat-tail tang hidden within the grip. It must never be used for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) combat, stage fencing, or cutting tests. Striking objects or engaging in swordplay will likely compromise the hilt's integrity, leading to catastrophic failure and severe injury. The edge is approximately 1.0 mm (0.04 inches) thick; whilst not razor-sharp, it is not safe for physical contact. It is designed solely for wall display or as a static costume piece.
Care and Maintenance Instructions
Your sword arrives with a gorgeous hardwood wall plaque adorned with the silken-screened symbols of the Kingdom of Gondor. When mounting the plaque, ensure you use robust wall anchors and screws capable of supporting the combined weight safely. Because the blade is fashioned from 420 J2 stainless steel, maintaining its mirror finish is effortless. Simply wipe away dust and fingerprints using a dry, soft microfibre cloth. The solid metal pommel and crossguard (Zamak and gold-plated brass) should only be dusted gently to preserve the genuine 24K gold leaf detailing. To prevent the genuine leather grip from drying or cracking over the years, apply a small amount of neutral leather conditioner annually.
