These men's shoes have a rounded toe caps and are attached to the foot over the instep/bridge with leather straps and rectangular brass buckles. The sole is made of leather, the bottom thin layer is made of anti-slip rubber, because the smooth leather would be too slippery and so dangerous for the wearer. These shoes were made on request of a customer as Landsknecht shoes. Since we could not find any relevant source and think these shoes fit rather in the 17th century, we call them “17th century men's shoes”.
