Men's Cloaks and Coats

In addition to bellies, trousers and a tunic or shirt, a cloak was also a traditional part of men's medieval clothing. It protected a man from bad weather. The so-called wheeled tyre was used - a semi-circular or three-quarter-circular tyre. It then fastened around the neck with a decorative clasp on one side so that they could draw a sword easily and quickly on the other. It could also be fastened at the front with a chain or button. Sometimes the cloak was simply tied in a knot - but this was only possible when the cloak was square.
