Italian dagger with fishtail pommel, 15 cen
This royal Renaissance dagger features a fishtail type pommel popular during the 15th century. The flourish of the pommel and star shaped quillons provided a regal presence that enhanced this quick daggers function. The elegantly tapered long blade has a heavy spine for strength, catering to a powerful thrust. This dagger is ideal for a puncturing weapon as this large and rigid spine will impart more of the force of the thrust into its target than a thinner and more flexible blade. The pommel gives excellent balance while the contoured, hard wood grip fits nicely into the palm and contours of the hand. More information...

Includes matching brown leather sheath with metal mouth and chape. Blade is high carbon steel with full tang. Cross guard and pommel are solid metal and nickel-plated. This dagger is of a design that would be fit to be hung at the hip of a knight, or noble of the late 14th and 15 century who would want an efficient, yet elegant sidearm.
