Shadow Claw: Tactical Integral Neck Knife with Kydex Sheath
Maximum Readiness in a Minimalist Package
This knife is designed to stay out of your way while remaining within arm's reach. It is primarily used as a backup knife (last resort knife) or as a lightweight tool for delicate tasks where a large knife would be unnecessarily cumbersome. Thanks to the Kydex sheath, the knife stays firmly in place even during rapid movement or running, yet it can be drawn with a single fluid motion. The finger hole in the design ensures the knife won't slip from your palm during use.

The Neck Knife: From Prehistory to Modern Tactical EDC
The concept of carrying a knife suspended from the chest is nothing new. As far back as the Stone Age, hunters carried flint blades in small leather pouches around their necks to keep their hands free for climbing or foraging. In the 18th century, similar knives, known as "neck knives," were popular among American trappers and indigenous tribes for their instant availability beneath layers of clothing. Today's modern version utilises space-age materials like Kydex, a thermoplastic that is precision-moulded to the knife, holding it securely by friction without the need for straps or buckles.
How to Properly Care for Your Knife
Although 420 steel is highly resistant to corrosion, I recommend rinsing the knife with fresh water and drying it after contact with aggressive substances (sweat, salt water, fruit acids). Occasionally apply a drop of silicone oil inside the sheath to keep the draw smooth. The Kydex sheath can simply be wiped with a damp cloth; avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures (e.g., on a car dashboard in summer), as the material could deform.
Safety Warning
This knife has a very sharp blade and is intended exclusively for cutting and utility tasks. Never use the knife for prying, as you could damage the tip or cause the material to snap. When carrying it around your neck, ensure the chain is a safety chain (ball chain) that will break under heavy tension to prevent strangulation. The knife is not intended for throwing or contact sparring.
