Leather Fencing Gloves 'Duelist' – Brown
Protection and Sensitivity for Technical Fencing
These gloves have been developed with a focus on fine motor skills. The palm area is made of supple leather, allowing you to feel every nuance of the hilt's movement, while the back of the hand and fingers are protected by padding. This padding effectively cushions light blows and protects against scrapes from contact with an opponent's weapon or your own sword's basket.
A distinctive feature is the long quilted cuff (gauntlet style) with a diamond pattern. Not only does it look stylish, evoking the padded gambesons of the Renaissance period, but it also performs an important protective function – shielding the wrist and lower forearm, where cuts often land. Please note that these gloves are not intended for full-contact combat (buhurt) or free sparring with heavy steel weapons without adequate basket protection. They are ideal for rapier, smallsword, sabre (with a basket hilt), or practising techniques with a hand-and-a-half sword.
How to Choose the Right Size
Due to the protective padding, the gloves have a specific cut and are tighter inside than regular walking gloves. To ensure the gloves fit comfortably and do not restrict blood circulation, we strongly recommend:
Order one size larger than your usual glove size. If you are between sizes, choose the larger one.
To find the correct size, measure the circumference of your dominant hand (right for right-handers, left for left-handers) with a tape measure across the knuckles (excluding the thumb).
Size Chart

Care for Leather Gear
To ensure your gloves serve you well for a long time, they require basic care:
- After each training session, let the gloves air dry at room temperature. Never dry them on a radiator or in direct sunlight, as the leather will harden and crack.
- Occasionally treat the leather with a clear leather balm or beeswax. This maintains its suppleness and resistance to moisture.
- As this is a natural material, small wrinkles, scars, or irregularities in texture are not defects but a sign of the leather's authenticity.
