Historical Context and Symbolism
This type of shield, known in heraldry as a heater shield, features a distinctive shape with a pointed bottom and a structured top edge. During the High Middle Ages, shields evolved from large kite shapes to these more practical forms, which were easier for knights to manage while on horseback.
The dominant feature of the shield is the Templar Cross. This symbol was granted to the Order by Pope Eugenius III in 1147. While the original was a red cross on a white field symbolizing martyrdom and purity, this model is executed in an elegant combination of silver (steel) and gold (brass) for maximum aesthetic effect in a modern interior, proudly nodding to the legacy of the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon.

Care Instructions
Maintenance is very easy thanks to the use of stainless steel. To maintain the high gloss, simply wipe the shield regularly with a soft duster. Smudges or fingerprints can be removed with a soft microfiber cloth. Never use steel wool, scouring powder, or aggressive chemicals, as these could scratch the surface or tarnish the brass rivets and cross.
