Although this is a strongly fantasy-stylised garment, the basic cut of the long tunic is based on the historical realities of the Early to High Middle Ages (approximately the 9th to 13th centuries), when the tunic was the fundamental piece of clothing for all social classes across Europe. A prominent feature in the form of a large pointed collar, sewn into the neckline and partially into the sleeve head, refers more to the noble Elven aesthetic known from modern pop culture and literature. The tunic reaches approximately to the knees, which guarantees excellent mobility when running and fighting. The front part is further enlivened with a coloured vertical piping. This garment is absolutely ideal for LARP, cosplay, historically themed festivals, or theatrical performances.

The Benefits Of Cotton Fustian (Moleskin)

The entire tunic is made of 100% cotton in a weave called fustian (often referred to as moleskin today). In the Middle Ages, this sturdy fabric was highly popular for its extraordinary durability and ability to retain body heat. Fustian is very pleasant to the touch, holds its shape excellently, and thanks to its density, will protect you from light scratches from branches while in the woods. At the same time, the fabric is breathable enough to be worn in warmer weather.

How To Properly Care For Your Tunic

To ensure this noble piece of clothing serves you well for a long time, it requires proper care. It is recommended to wash the tunic in a washing machine on a gentle cycle at a temperature of 30 to 40 °C (86 to 104 °F). When washing, use standard laundry detergents, but completely avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, which could damage the fabric's colour saturation. Tumble drying is strongly discouraged. Instead, hang the tunic on a hanger and let it air dry naturally, ideally out of direct and harsh sunlight so the material does not fade. Ironing can be done on a medium setting intended for cotton.

To achieve a flawless appearance, we recommend that you complement the tunic with linen or woollen trousers corresponding to the 13th to 14th century and belt it with a sturdy leather belt featuring a brass buckle.
