We recommend using pencils, ballpoint pens, coloured pencils, charcoal, or oil paints for writing and drawing. Strictly avoid using fountain pen ink or watercolours – the high absorbency of the handmade paper will cause the colours to bleed or feather excessively.

Do not expose the journal to open flames or high temperatures, as the leather may crack and the paper may ignite. Handle the brass clasp with care; it is not designed for heavy mechanical stress.
