This journal's cover is crafted from genuine buffalo leather, which has been vegetable-tanned. The base colour is a very dark brown-to-black, which makes the vibrant purple-magenta embossing stand out beautifully. The design features a central mandala (flower of life) surrounded by several layers of ornamental and floral borders.

The main feature, however, is the seven semi-precious stones (cabochons) set vertically down the journal's centre, corresponding to the colours of the seven main chakras:

1. Red (Root Chakra)
2. Orange/Brown (Sacral Chakra)
3. Pink (Solar Plexus Chakra - *note: colour may vary*)
4. Purple (Heart Chakra - *note: colour may vary*)
5. Blue-Purple (Throat Chakra)
6. Blue (Third Eye Chakra)
7. Purple/Dark (Crown Chakra)

The journal closes securely with a black leather strap and a robust, antiqued-brass-coloured metal clasp (a C-hook or swing hook). The spine features a traditional cross-stitch binding.

Paper from Ancient Times

Inside, you'll find 100 leaves (200 pages) of handmade paper crafted from a blend of recycled paper and cotton. The paper is unlined and has a distinct, deep yellow-to-ochre patina and a very rough, fibrous texture, similar to jute. Each page is an original with deckled edges, lending an incredibly authentic, ancient feel to your writings. It's the perfect grimoire or book of shadows.

Warning and Care

Important Note on the Paper: Due to its rough and absorbent texture, the paper is ideal for ballpoint pens, pencils, or crayons. Acrylics may also work. However, we do not recommend using fountain pens or watercolours, as they will bleed and feather heavily on this paper.

Cover Care: Protect the journal from water. Do not treat the leather with conditioners, as this could damage or discolour the purple motif and stones. Protect the stones from impact.
