Appearance and Design

Each insert is crafted from a durable, slightly translucent plastic in a cream colour. It consists of two main parts:

• Cylindrical Base: This section is inserted and glued directly into the hollow aluminium arrow shaft. It is designed for a precise and firm fit.
• Tapered Pin: A conical end extends from the cylindrical base, onto which the plastic nock (the part that engages the bowstring) is then easily fitted.

The overall design is minimalist and entirely functional, focused on maximum reliability and straightforward installation.

Function and Compatibility

This component, often referred to as a "nock insert" or "nock bushing", serves two crucial functions:

1. Arrow Protection: It effectively reinforces the end of the aluminium shaft, protecting it from splitting or deforming, for instance, from the impact of another arrow on the target face.
2. Modularity and Easy Repair: Thanks to this system, you can easily and inexpensively replace a damaged or broken nock. This means you don't have to discard an entire, otherwise functional, arrow. Simply remove the old nock and fit a new one.

These inserts are specifically designed for 30-inch aluminium arrows from the Man Kung brand. Their diameter matches the internal diameter of these shafts.

Installation and Use

How to install the insert?

Installation is simple and you can do it yourself. Follow these steps:

1. Thoroughly clean the inside of the arrow shaft to remove any dirt or grease.
2. Apply a thin layer of suitable glue (e.g., fletching adhesive) to the cylindrical part of the insert.
3. Firmly push the insert into the arrow shaft until it is fully seated. Immediately wipe away any excess glue.
4. Allow the glue to dry completely according to the glue manufacturer's instructions.
5. Once dry, you can push a standard nock onto the tapered pin.

Safety and Care

Principles of Safe Use

Before each shot, check that the insert and nock are held securely in the arrow and are not damaged in any way. A loose or cracked nock can cause the arrow to be seated incorrectly on the string, and in extreme cases, lead to crossbow damage (a so-called 'dry fire'). When applying glue, work in a well-ventilated area.

How to care for the components?

The inserts require no special maintenance. Store them in a dry place at room temperature. Regularly inspect your arrows, and if you find any damage to an insert or nock, replace it immediately. With this set, you will always have spare parts on hand for a quick fix.
