The design of this knife merges two iconic elements of Japanese history. The handle shape with the ring refers to the kunai—originally a simple agricultural and masonry tool that ninjas favoured for its versatility, using it as both a multi-purpose implement and a weapon. The tanto blade shape, on the other hand, draws inspiration from the daggers and short swords of the samurai. The angled shaping ensures that a large amount of material is retained directly behind the tip, which historically guaranteed extreme penetrating power against leather and lamellar armour. Today, these time-tested concepts come alive in a modern tactical fixed-blade knife.
Construction and Safety Guidelines
The knife features a dark finish that effectively minimises unwanted glare, along with tactical handle scales made of extremely durable G10 fibreglass composite, securely fastened with screws. The 440 stainless steel blade comes razor-sharp straight from the factory. For safety reasons, we must strongly emphasise that this is a practical utility tool and a collector's item. Under no circumstances is it intended for contact historical fencing, LARP battles, or martial arts sparring against a live opponent. Also, avoid using the knife for heavy prying, as the very thin tip could easily snap.
Proper Care for the Knife and Sheath
The 440 stainless steel is very easy to maintain and resists corrosion well. Even so, we recommend wiping the blade completely dry after working in damp environments. For sharpening the tapered edge, we advise using a ceramic rod or a fine diamond whetstone, which makes it easier to follow the angle of the tanto point. For metal conservation and protection against the elements, we recommend regularly applying a thin layer of high-quality gun oil. If the hard plastic sheath gets dirty, simply rinse it out with water and let it air dry.
