Classic Full-Tang Hunting Knife with Pakkawood Handle

Traditional Companion for Hunting and Camp Life

This fixed blade knife is based on the proven and centuries-tested shapes of classic hunting daggers. The construction with an integral blade (so-called full-tang) means that the steel blank runs through the entire length of the tool, giving the knife exceptional structural strength and excellent balance. Historically, similar scaled-down knife shapes evolved from European hunting hangers, which the nobility used in the early modern period during hunts to dispatch game. Today, it is a highly versatile and practical tool. You will utilize it when preparing firewood, building a forest shelter, slicing food, as well as skinning and finely processing your catch.

Durable Steel and Innovative Pakkawood

The blade is made of high-quality X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, which is alloyed with molybdenum and vanadium. This specific alloy is extremely popular in the European knifemaking industry for its high corrosion resistance, optimal flexibility, and outstanding ability to hold a working edge, which can also be relatively easily restored in the field. The handle scales consist of so-called Pakkawood. From a technical perspective, this is a modern composite material where thin veneers of hardwood are impregnated with heat-curing resin and subsequently pressed under enormous pressure. The result is a material that retains the natural beauty and warmth of wood but is completely waterproof, does not crack, does not absorb odors, and does not deform under the influence of moisture.

Safety Warnings

This is a real working tool with a very sharp blade and a penetrating tip. Always exercise heightened caution when handling it to avoid injury to yourself or people around you. For safety reasons, this knife is absolutely not intended for historical contact fencing, man-to-man combat training, or LARP battles. The knife serves primarily for cutting and piercing soft materials. Never use it as a pry bar or as a chisel in hard materials such as stone or hardened iron, as this could lead to a fatal chipping of the edge or breaking of the blade.

How to Care for Your Knife

Although the blade is constructed from high-quality stainless steel, we strongly recommend that after use in an aggressive or humid environment (for example, during game processing, contact with salty blood, or slicing acidic fruit), you immediately rinse the knife with clean water and dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. Occasionally wiping the blade with a thin layer of high-quality gun oil or food oil will significantly prolong its flawless appearance. The supplied leather sheath requires regular treatment with a leather balm containing beeswax so that the natural leather does not dry out, does not crack, and retains its natural suppleness. Under no circumstances should the knife be placed in a dishwasher; aggressive chemicals and hot water could irreparably damage the handle scales as well as the brass or steel elements.

With this hunting knife, we recommend purchasing a high-quality natural stone pocket sharpener and a sturdy, sufficiently wide leather belt for its comfortable and safe carry in the outdoors.
