Historically Inspired Style
The design of this bodice draws inspiration from the fashion of the Late Middle Ages and Early Renaissance (approx. 14th–16th centuries). During this era, women commonly wore bodices or kirtles over a chemise to support their figure and protect their undergarments. The Adalyn is designed to evoke this historical aesthetic faithfully.
- Material: 100% sturdy cotton canvas. The fabric is breathable yet robust enough to hold its shape.
- Decoration: The square neckline is framed by a decorative white trim with an embroidered pattern, providing a beautiful contrast against the burgundy fabric.
- Lacing: The front features functional lacing with metal eyelets and a strong cotton cord. This allows you to adjust the bodice to fit your figure perfectly.
- Tabbed Hem: The bottom edge finishes with decorative rectangular tabs. This detail was historically popular not only for its look but also because it allowed for a better fit over voluminous skirts.
How to Wear It
This garment is designed as an outer layer. For an authentic look and maximum comfort, I recommend wearing it over a linen or cotton chemise (shift). The bodice pairs excellently with a long, full skirt. Please note that the light-colored dress shown in the photos is not included and must be purchased separately.

To ensure the bodice fits you perfectly, please measure yourself carefully. The values in the table correspond to the measurements of the product itself. Thanks to the lacing, you have some flexibility in the width.

Note: The "Chest Width" indicates the flat measurement across the front. Double this for the approximate circumference when fully laced. Allow some gap for the lacing effect.
Care Instructions
To keep your bodice looking new for a long time, I recommend hand washing or machine washing on a gentle cycle (max. 30°C / 86°F). Use detergent for colored fabrics. Do not tumble dry, as natural cotton may shrink. Iron at a medium temperature, ideally on the reverse side.
