Brass Ship's Bell with Wall Mount

A Stylish Element with a Piercing Voice

This brass bell is not just an ordinary decoration, but a fully functional instrument. Its design is based on the classic ship's bells that have served on the decks of vessels for centuries. The lustrous polished brass surface gives the bell a luxurious appearance, and its sound is loud enough to be heard from a great distance – perfect for calling "last orders" in your pub or summoning the family for lunch in the garden.

Easy Installation and Versatile Use

Installing the bell is very simple. The bracket features two 5 mm diameter holes for mounting to a wall, beam, or other solid surface. Simply choose a suitable location, mark the holes, and firmly attach the bell using two screws.
Please note: Mounting hardware (screws, wall plugs) is not included. Always choose screws appropriate for the material you are mounting the bell to (wood, brick, concrete, etc.).

Bells at Sea and on Land

On the decks of sailing ships, the ship's bell had a vital function. Not only did it serve as a warning signal in fog, but it primarily set the rhythm of life on board. The ringing of the bell marked the four-hour watches. Each half-hour was marked by a single strike. "Eight bells" thus signified the end of the watch and the changing of the guard. This tradition is still maintained in navies today. The ship's bell was also often the only valuable item on board that bore the ship's name, and in the event of a shipwreck, it was often the first thing salvaged in memory of the lost vessel.

How to Care for Your Bell

Brass is a beautiful material that deserves care. To maintain its high shine, simply wipe the bell regularly with a dry, soft cloth. For a more thorough cleaning and to restore its lustre, use a commercially available brass polish. Remember that if the bell is exposed to the elements, it will develop a natural patina over time, giving it an antique look – for many, this patina is desirable. Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleaners that could scratch the bell's surface.
