Here we offer a replica of the famous Baker rifle, based on a model from 1806. This rifle has been used by the rifle corps of the British Army (the riflemen, wellknown because of their green jackets) during the Napoleonic Wars. In about 1798 the master gunsmith Ezekiel Baker got the order to design a new weapon for this corps. 2 years and a few models later the Baker Rifle was placed into production. It consisted of a 76cm long barrel with seven rectangular grooves to impart spin to the projectile for improved flight stability. That’s why the Baker Rifle had an extraordinary longrange with high accuracy. For a few decades this weapon has been used not only by British snipers but as well by American and other foreign regiments that were supported by the British Army.
