During the Renaissance and Baroque periods, daggers ceased to be purely functional tools for close combat and evolved into highly prized fashion accessories and status symbols. The nobility and wealthy burghers competed in the richness of their weapons' ornamentation. This replica draws its inspiration precisely from this era.
