Large Bust of Pharaoh Tutankhamun – Ancient Egyptian Style Decoration

Detailed Craftsmanship and Symbolism

This impressive statue is crafted from high-quality polyresin (a durable resin compound), allowing for the capture of intricate details that would be difficult to achieve with stone or metal. The surface is hand-painted, emphasising the iconic combination of gold and blue, mimicking the gold and lapis lazuli of the original artefact. The bust depicts the young Pharaoh wearing the traditional Nemes headdress, a symbol of royal authority. Upon his brow sit the Uraeus—the cobra (Wadjet) and the vulture (Nekhbet)—protectors of the monarch against evil. A prominent feature is the ceremonial false beard, symbolising the Pharaoh's connection to the god Osiris.

Thanks to its substantial size, this bust is perfect as a centrepiece on a mantelpiece, in a library, or on a standalone plinth. It is an ideal gift for collectors and history lovers alike.

A Glimpse into History: The Boy King

Nebkheperure Tutankhamun ruled Egypt approximately between 1333 and 1323 BC. Although his reign was short and he died at a young age, he became arguably the most famous ruler of antiquity. His tomb (KV62) was discovered nearly intact in 1922 by British archaeologist Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings. The gold death mask that inspired this bust is still considered one of the finest works of art ever created by humanity.

Care Instructions

To ensure your bust remains a pristine treasure for years to come, please follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Placement: The statue is designed strictly for indoor use. Do not expose it to rain, frost, or prolonged direct sunlight (UV rays may cause colours to fade over time).
  • Cleaning: Remove dust only with a soft brush or a dry microfibre cloth. Do not use water, chemical cleaners, or abrasive materials, as these could damage the hand-painted finish.
  • Handling: While polyresin is durable, it can shatter if dropped on a hard surface. Please handle the statue with care.

You can create a magnificent interior display by pairing this bust with other Egyptian artefacts, such as statues of deities (Anubis, Bastet) or framed papyrus art.
