These offensive or combat shields are based on the shields used in the 14th and 15th centuries. Unlike other shields that rather fulfil the protective function; you can attack the enemy with this shield by hitting him with the shield edge. This type shields was developed for HMB (Historical Medieval Battles) and Buhurts. Their edges are reinforced with double-layer hem of rawhide. The handle is positioned about 10cm from the edge, which is favorable for the hand and wrist in the fight – it is well protected against the opponent’s blows.
