Viking weapons
A typical weapon for a Viking warrior is undoubtedly the battle axe. Its look depended mainly on the owner – poorer warriors would have an ordinary axe with an extended shaft, richer Vikings then owned a laboriously decorated axe with various elements of the Viking art. The most valuable weapons were double-bladed swords with a short hilt. The spear was also commonly used in close combats. Everyone who approached was stabbed mercilessly.
