Cleavers are special large knives used for carving and meat processing. They are suitable for butchers, professional chefs and also for amateurs. Cleavers have a large metal blade, mostly from stainless steel. Its shape is usually rectangular. They are usually 30 to 40 centimetres long and 7 to 15 cm wide. Sometimes the cleaver can be combined with the meat tenderizer. The handle of cleavers is most often made of wood. The blade must be very firmly connected to the handle or haft. The weight of cleavers ranges from 400 to 3,000 grams.
