Historical Context and Practical Use in Archery

Forearm protection for archers is as old as archery itself. This simple yet highly effective design is based on historical realities and can be typologically placed in a very broad period from the 2nd to the 10th century – from Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. Today, you will appreciate this leather archery bracer especially during instinctive archery practice, at historical battles, period encampments, or while exploring deep forests at LARP events. The bracer is placed on the inside of the forearm of the bow hand and securely fixed using the supplied leather thong. The lacing allows for precise tightening, perfectly adjusting to the circumference of your arm or costume sleeve.

Proper Fitting and Leather Care

Natural leather needs to be nourished regularly to maintain its flexibility and extend its lifespan. We recommend occasionally treating the bracer and the leather lace with a high-quality leather balsam containing beeswax. Never wash the product in a washing machine, do not soak it unnecessarily in water, and absolutely do not dry it near sources of radiant heat, such as a radiator or an open fire. Rapid drying would lead to irreversible hardening and cracking of the leather. If you get caught in the rain at the archery range, let the bracer dry slowly at standard room temperature.
