The rondel dagger was a commonly carried sidearm for a variety of people in the middle ages, from merchants and knights to soldiers and jousters. This Auray Rondel Dagger is made from carbon steel and features an elegant design. An elaborately detailed piece, this dagger with a tri-side blade hollow-ground surfaces could have found its way onto the battlefield of Auray, France in the 14th century during the Breton War of Succession. The pommel and guard feature deep filigree work and are plated in 24-karat gold, while the wooden handle has been covered in black leather with a swirled gold chain. A matching wooden scabbard covered in leather with matching, ornate gold-plated fittings in included.

- The blade cross-section has the shape of the equilateral triangle. The individual surfaces have a hollow cut.
- Blade cross-section on the crossguard-rondel: The altitude (heigh) of the equilateral triangle measures approximately 12.9mm. The side of the equilateral triangle is approximately 14.6mm long
- The edges of the blade are sharpened
- The front disc (rondel) has a diameter of approx. 54.3mm
- The rear disc (rondel) has a diameter of approx. 58.5mm
- Distance between the rondels, i.e. handle length is approx. 108.6mm
- Diameter of the wooden handle approx. 23.8mm
- The fullers in the handle are decorated with twisted pairs of yellow metal wire.
- The rondels consist of black metal discs with brass discs set on top with filigree perforations.
- The locket and chape of the scabbard are also made of brass and decorated with filigree engraving.
