Cuff bracers are an indispensable aid (to protect wrists) for active fencers. Their model dates back to the Early Gothic period. They are mainly used to pull tight wide sleeves of shirts and other clothing. They are made of 1.8-2 mm thick dyed smooth cowhide. The bracer'slength is 10.5 cm. When ordering this product, please specify your wrist and forearm circumference.
The cuff bracer is fastened with two buckles that provide for the tightening of the bracer to adapt it to varying circumference. Besides the colour shown in the picture the vambraces are available in other colours: see the choice of colour.
Please note: This product is made by hand from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor differences in the colour and surface texture are its natural characteristics. These small imperfections do not decrease the value of the product. Each piece is to some extent an original.
In the case of hand-forged blades, our blacksmith takes the already rolled spring steel and forges it by hand on the anvil or under the drop hammer. The steel gets more solid (denser) by forging. In the case of industrially rolled spring steel blades, the sheets of steel plate is cut to strips under drop snips, then ground or milled and immediately forged into the annealing furnace and oil-quenched. The properties of both kinds of steels are not very different, since industrial rolling is already very good! On forged blades are usually blacksmith marks, which give them an authentic and unique look.
