The core of this back scabbard is made of solid beech plywood. The wooden core is covered with cow leather (available in black or brown). The throat border, scabbard chape and the two bands around the scabbard are made of brass (see photo). But they can also be made of stainless steel or iron. The leather strap across the back is adjustable at both ends.
We will make a made-to-measure back scabbard for you corresponding to the size of your sword. If you order the product with a sword, fill in this table of dimensions after you have completed your order. The leather strap itself may be made to measure. If the standard size does not suit you (sports figure XL with the height of about 175cm), send us a slanted circumference of your trunk copying the position of the leather strap.
The daggers are approximately made as follows. The basic shape of the blade is made by a laser CNC machine. It is burned from spring steel. The semi-finished blade follows then in the groove cutter, where the cutting edge and the groove are milled. The blade is then oil-quenched and tempered to the desired hardness. Then the guard and pommel is attached to the blade tang. The tang is usually peened at the end (behind the pommel) and the cross-guard hard soldered with brass. Hardwood plates are placed under the handle wrapping from genuine cowhide so that the handle is sufficiently robust for a safe grasp. The steels surfaces obtain the desired finish in the end - with a wire brush or with a felt disc with polishing paste.
