This loose cut dress has slightly flared 3/4 sleeves and so-called gores at the sides, extending from the waistline to the hem. Gores, wedge-shaped / triangular pieces of fabric added to expand the shape of a garment, gave medieval clothing a generous flare. It is designed as an early medieval outer garment, as the colour contrasting details (its most notable feature) clearly show. The collar ist fitted with a button and slit closure at the center back. The dress is made from plain cotton fabric and looks best worn with a leather belt. More information...

The look and cut of this dress are based on archeological finds (6th c. woman's grave find in Asseln, district of Dortmund, Germany) and early medieval illustrations (9th c. Stuttgart Psalter). The garb of the Early Middle Ages was characterized by long outerwear, simple patterns mainly consisting of rectangles sewn together, and colour contrasting details. The dress is thus ideal for the portrayal of Vikings, Lombards, Merovingians and Franks.

The dress came a day early actually, super fast delivery. I needed garb quickly and was using this as an underdress rather than a dress on it's own. The only color available was the natural which was perfect for an underdress but the material is much thicker than I thought it would be. If you need an underdress for colder weather then this will ensure you are warm. If dressing in warmer weather then I recommend using this as a dress on its own as it's quite thick and if using as it's own dress then I recommend maybe a thicker leather belt and lots of accessories and getting it in a color like blue or red or else it risks looking like an underdress or petticoat and ppl will think you went out half dressed. Quality was top notch

První objednávka a maximální spokojenost. Šaty jsou přesně jak z popisu i obrázku, parádní materiál a doručení do 2 dnů jak psali. Plus mě potěšil srandovní dáreček v podobě trička ? Především co chci vypíchnout je materiál, bál jsem se že to bude nějaká obyčejná jutovina, nepříjemný na dotek apod. ale je to fakt solidní látka hrubšího stylu a působí to prostě jak má. ?
