Medieval Stone Bow, Bullet-Shooting Crossbow

Primarily designed for the hunt, this lighter, portable offshoot of the crossbow was easier to handle and shot small ammunition such as clay pellets, stones (hence the name) and, later on, lead bullets instead of crossbow bolts. It was thus ideal for hunting birds and small game. The stone bow was spanned by pulling the double string back with both hands and hooking the back of the bullet pouch onto the trigger hook. A simple pull of the trigger was then sufficient to release the hook and propel the projectile placed in the pouch beforehand.

Please note:

The present stone bow is a decoration item with limited functionality and accuracy. As this weapon reproduction has a working mechanism (it can be spanned and - though only to an extent - shot), its purchase and use are subject to age restrictions. This crossbow is neither suitable for an effective shooting training nor for practical use on the reenactment battlefield, and is exclusively designed as a nice addition to a historical weapons collection, as an ornamental / display item or as a medieval accessory. In any case, it is not a toy and should be handled by adults only. Additionally, we would like to point out that bow and crossbow hunting is prohibited in Germany. At international level, legal provisions pertaining to crossbows in general and crossbow hunting in particular are not uniform and widely differ depending on individual state legislation. Please make sure to seek proper advice from the competent authority in your country in order to comply with all local and state regulations.
